Virtual Phone Banks for WI Supreme Court Election: Judge Jill Karofsky

April 1 to April 7, 2020

9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The April 7th election in Wisconsin is not just a Presidential primary. The Supreme Court election is crucial to the future of fair elections in the state and to our national fight to roll back Republican gerrymandering in 2021. Help us lead Judge Jill Karofsky to victory!

We're helping Swing Left and the Democratic Party of Wisconsin elect the progressive, pro-democracy candidate, Judge Jill Karofsky, to the WI State Supreme Court. Republicans are putting their money behind her opponent, so we’re pulling out the stops to elect Judge Karofsky.

We're calling Democratic voters to make sure they understand the stakes of this race, know who the candidates are in this nonpartisan election, and have a plan to vote – preferably by mail (ballots can be requested until Thursday).

To make calls for this race, register for this event below and sign up for the days you are able to make calls. Don't worry if you've never made calls before or feel like you don't know much about this race. After you sign up, you’ll immediately receive an automated email with all the information you need to make calls: training materials, background on Judge Karofsky, and contact information for Swing Left staff who can provide additional support.

We can start winning in Wisconsin in 2020 by getting out the vote in their April 7 Primary through these phone banks.  Check out the training slide deck here  and sign up to phone bank here.

Virtual WI Phone Banks: GOTV in Racine, Kenosha & Walworth County

April 1 to April 7, 2020

9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

While the Democratic Party of WI is suspending canvassing and large, in-person gatherings for the duration of the April 7 election cycle, they still have an important election to win and we still need your help during this fast-paced transition.

We need more folks to make phone calls to voters -- this is our next most effective form of voter contact after door-to-door canvassing. The purpose will be to make sure voters commit to vote for Judge Jill Karofsky, Judge Lisa Neubauer, and other down-ballot candidates/referenda AND talk them through getting an absentee ballot by mail or instruct them to vote early.

Sign up for as many days as possible to help us reach voters in the absence of door-to-door canvassing. You can be trained over the phone (or Video Chat) and make a difference right in the comfort of your home! If you've never phone banked, we have organizers that can coach you and make sure you're ready to Call Out the (Early) Vote.

How to get started:

  • Read instructions on how to use the Open Virtual Phone Banks for making calls.

  • What you need: internet connection and either a phone, tablet, or laptop.

  • If you're ready to start making calls, sign HERE.

  • Signing up online prompts your organizer to reach out to you and make sure you're ready to go!

Phone Bank Socials with

Indivisible Chicago

April 1 to April 7, 2020

Various shifts

Join the Indivisible Chicago Alliance for phone banking for the COVID age: Several times a week we will gather in a virtual conference room and make calls to Wisconsin voters, helping them to vote by mail in their April 7 primary and spring elections.

On the ballot is a big Supreme Court race that we must win to prevent eight more years of gerrymandering and voter suppression.

We'll have training for those who need it and social time afterward for those who want it. You can be safe at home, in the company of comrades, and working to flip Wisconsin blue for 2020.

We have sessions scheduled for various days and times of week, and if you demand it we'll schedule more. Pick a shift and sign up HERE.

Take Action Now with Indivisible's People's Bailout

Congress has now passed three coronavirus-related response bills. While these bills have temporarily filled in important gaps in our paid sick leave, unemployment insurance, and health care systems, they are grossly insufficient given the magnitude of the current crisis. What’s worse, in return for helping people who are desperately in need of support, Trump and his Republican allies demanded hundreds of billions of dollars in unaccountable corporate bailouts.

This crisis isn’t over and soon Congress will likely have to pass at least one additional response package. We need to continue demanding that any coronavirus response legislation puts people’s needs ahead of corporate profits — in other words, we need a People’s Bailout.
