Rallies for Immigrant Rights

Updated: Apr 2

Thank You for Rallying for Immigrant Rights!

Thank you to all who joined Indivisible Evanston on 7/12 at McHenry County Jail and on 7/13 at Daley Center Plaza in Chicago as we rallied with immigrant rights, social justice, and grassroots organizations in protest against the administration’s destructive policies and actions. We took a stand to welcome immigrant communities in solidarity.

You Went To a Rally & Marched. Now What?

Continuous, consistent, and collective action can make tremendous and extraordinary change. Visit Indivisible Chicago for a list of actions you can take relating to immigrant rights including:

Hold your Congressional representatives accountable and contact them frequently to let them know immigrant rights should be high on their agendas. Demand they vote to decrease funding and eventually abolish ICE.

Meet with your State Representatives in district or in Springfield, and support pro-immigrant state legislation. Learn about state actions from the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights.

Call your mayors, alder-people, trustees, commissioners and/or local elected representatives, and demand an end to police and ICE collaboration in your community.

Have difficult conversations with your neighbors, families, acquaintances.

Consider donations to keep the efforts going. Check out organizations supporting immigrants at Charity Navigator.
