ACLU Action Keep Plastic Foam out of Lake Michigan
Plastic pollution is a serious threat to Lake Michigan, our health, and our environment.
Plastic never really goes away. Instead, it breaks up into tiny pieces called “microplastics.” Researchers have found microplastics in the food we eat, the water we drink, and the air we breathe.
Polystyrene foam, more commonly known as Styrofoam, is nearly impossible to recycle. It easily breaks down into toxic microplastic particles in the environment.
The Illinois Senate has passed a bill that would reduce plastic pollution at the source by phasing out single-use foam food containers. Tell your Illinois House Representative to vote “yes” and keep plastic out of Lake Michigan and our drinking water.

ACLU Action
People driving unmarked vehicles, wearing masks, tactical gear and weapons WITH NO VISIBLE IDENTIFICATION are swarming workplaces, schools and neighborhoods to forcibly take people away. It's about to get worse, because Congress voted to give an unprecedented $170 billion more to the Trump administration for immigration enforcement.
The VISIBLE Act would require federal agents to wear visible ID's showing the agency they work for, a name and badge number, and would ban ski masks. Send a message to Congress to pass the VISIBLE Act.
