In this book, Alter defines the class of young leaders who are remaking the nation -- how grappling with 9/11 as teens, serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, occupying Wall Street, protesting with Black Lives Matter, and shouldering their way into a financially rigged political system has shaped the people who will govern the future.

On May 18, 2021, Family Action Network hosted a conversation between author Charlotte Alter and with Eli Stone, a Chicago-based campaign operative. Stone has managed three campaigns before the age of 20, including that of Evanston’s new mayor, Daniel Biss. He is completing a gap year and will begin studies at Brandeis University in the fall.
