You don't need to go far to be part of a visible resistance. Join one of these weekly gatherings to stand up for what you believe, and join neighbors in acts of solidarity:
Thursday Evenings in Evanston
Join Evanston Interfaith Clergy and Leaders (EICL) every Thursday from 7 to 7:30PM--bring a sign, your voice, a musical instrument. Locations include Dempster and Ridge, Chicago and Main, and Central and Central Park.
Saturday Mornings in Evanston
Every Saturday, rally in Evanston at Independence Park at Central and Stewart from 11:00am-12:00 pm. Bring a sign, a friend or family member, and stand up for democracy with your neighbors! (Note: we will rally on Saturday, October 18--No Kings Day!)
Saturday Mornings in Wilmette
Join Chicago Area Peace Action every Saturday morning from 11:00am-noon in downtown Wilmette in front of Village Hall at the corner of Wilmette and Central Avenues. Bring a sign and a friend or family member! Messages include: pro-democracy, rule of law, anti-authoritarian, hands off social security, etc.
1st Tuesday of the Month in Ravenswood
Join Indivisible Chicago Northwest on the second Tuesday of each month, 10-11AM, outside the Social Security Administration office at 3260 W. Fullerton Ave. in Chicago. We're gathering in support of beleaguered yet dedicated SSA staffers and demand HANDS OFF Social Security — an earned benefit! Got a sign? Bring it. We’ll have extra signs, too. Please sign up in advance.
4th Thursday of the Month in Lincoln Square
Join a monthly vigil on the 4th Thursday of each month, 10:00-11:00am outside the Social Security Administration office at 2127 W. Lawrence Ave. in Chicago. We're gathering in support of beleaguered yet dedicated SSA staffers and to demand HANDS OFF Social Security — an earned benefit! Bring a sign. Please sign up in advance.
